Bengaluru : On 24th August 2019, as DSATM fraternity celebrated Entrepreneurs Day, the campus went abuzz with fervour and vibrancy as it marked the inauguration of four centres of excellence – Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPRC), Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) & Technology Business Incubation Center(TBIC). The Centres of excellence were established with an objective to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship and to foster industry- institute- connect.
The E-Day function was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Ranjith Krishna Pai, Scientist ‘D’/Deputy Director, Technology Mission Division, DST, GOI, Guests of Honour-Mr. Girish V Gumasthe, Former SD & EDP Panel, KASSIA along with Yeshaswi Nag, Project Manager, Indian Startups,Principal , Vice-Principal , Dean-Academics, Industry Partners, Alumni entrepreneurs and staff of DSATM. The program Commenced with an endearing welcome address by the Dean Academics Dr. Sumitra Devi K followed by a keynote address form Mr.Ranjith K Pai who appreciated DSATM for the initiative taken to facilitate innovation & entrepreneurship. He shared his insights about the eco-system support available for facilitatinginnovation and entrepreneurship both at Centraland State Government Levels. Mr. Girish and Mr.Yeshaswi Nag reiterated the need to inculcate entrepreneurial Mind-setamong students to propel economic growth through income generation & job creation.The inaugural function concluded with an inspiring Presidential address by the Principal Dr. B R Lakshmikantha followed by Vote of thanks by the Vice-Principal Dr. C Nandini. Subsequently dignitaries inaugurated the centres of excellence to boost innovation &entrepreneurshipand to promote interaction between industry and academia. Around 40 companies from diverse sectors have been empanelled as MOU partners of DSATM under IIPC which will eventually pave way for exchange programs, collaborative research and consultancy projects, externships, internships and placement opportunities for students.
