Bengaluru : Industry Conclave, a novel initiative of DSATM held on 22 nd June 2019 was professionally manoeuvred by the organizing team under the able guidance and leadership of the Principal and Dean-Academics. The event witnessed participation of close to 130 delegates from both industry and academia.
The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Rohan Sagar, Member- Board of
Governance & Director- DERBI, Shri Galiswamy, Secretary-DSI, Principal Dr. B R Lakshmikantha, Vice- Principal Dr. Nandini C and Dean- Academics, Dr. Sumithra Devi K A. The conclave commenced with an invocation song by Dr. Manjunath Prasad, HOD-ECE followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries. Dr. Sumithra Devi set the right tone to the program by welcoming the audience and by outlining the purpose of conclave mentioning that it can have multi- faceted benefits to both industry and the academia.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of honour appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and indicated that such events can facilitate to redefine the curriculum in alignment with industry, foster internship and employability prospects for students, develop industry requisite skills in students, open avenues for collaborative research and consultancy projects and enhance the practical skills and competencies of academicians through interaction with the corporate professionals.
Later Presidential address was rendered by esteemed Principal-DSATM during which he
emphasized about the need to orient academia to align with the disruptive changes in industry.
The inaugural function concluded with National Anthem after Vice-Principal proposed vote of
thanks to the august gathering. Subsequently HODs escorted the industry invitees to their
respective departments and deliberated and discussed with them on seamless possibilities to establish industry-institute connect. The event had an overwhelming response from around 31 participating companies from diverse sectors like – Manufacturing, Software Development, Design & Construction and consultancy firms. All the participants were highly appreciative of the program.
