DUBAI AIR SHOW inaugurated ~ 1,300 companies from 160 countries at Dubai Air Show

Dubai : His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai along with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday inaugurated the five-day Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central. Also present during the inauguration were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and other top officials.

Sharjah-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia is likely to announce a deal for 100+ aircraft of the neo family. Air Arabia’s likely order may include an option to mix the A321neo and A321nex XLR models.

Emirates airline is also expected to sign a final order for Airbus A350 and A330neo jets in addition to confirming its $15 billion commitment for 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and a possible reshuffle in an order for 777X, which is expected to be operational by early 2021. In addition to the UAE airlines, Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways and Oman’s SalamAir might also opt for the A320neo for new orders. Kuwait’s Alafco could also sign an order for the A320neo aircraft, aviation sources said.

Before the DUBAI AIR SHOW inauguration, Sheikh Mohammed inspected the site of the Air Show, While visiting the venue of the Exhibition, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and CEO and Chairman of the Emirates Group, and Chairman of the organizing committee of the exhibition; Staff Major General Pilot Abdulla Al Hashmi, Executive director of the military committee for the show; Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department as well as other Shaikhs and senior officials.

1,300 companies from 160 countries at Dubai Airshow at Dubai World Central. On display will be civilian and military aircraft. Every day from 2pm to 5pm, aircraft will take to the skies over Dubai during the event. Residents are prohibited from flying their drones within the 15-km radius near Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) from Sunday, until November 21, 2019.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday tweeted: “Last edition, the show was rounded off with deals worth $113 billion. We are looking forward to an exceptional edition, starting from tomorrow at Dubai World Central (DWC), the new global terminal in the world of airports.”
